Synopsis of the project “Forgotten Heroes”

“At the dawn of the 18th century, a crucial transition looms over the Spanish monarchy: the Habsburgs give way to the newly established Bourbon House.

This schism ignites passions across European kingdoms, unleashing a war that would transform Christendom. Within this canvas of intrigue and battles emerges Sebastián de Deba y Miranda—Bastián to those close to him—a man of mysterious origin who fought under the command of the legendary admiral Blas de Lezo.

Mentored from afar by an indecipherable and enigmatic gentleman, Don Julián, Bastián leads a life full of experiences that he has recorded in countless documents, not all written by his own hand. He keeps them in an old chest; they recount adventures framed within the titanic struggle that pitted Great Britain against a brave Spain.

Contained and intertwined within these life diaries are murders, duels, international intrigues, espionage, privateering battles, and total war, accompanied by the fortunes and misfortunes of love.

Andrés, the son of one of Bastián’s trusted men, becomes the guardian of this precious legacy and takes on the task of unraveling how much of it is history and how much is invention.
